Introduction to Sound Analysis Workshop (Online)
Are you interested in learning how to understand and analyse bat sounds?

This session, run by the Bat Conservation Trust, will provide an introduction to bat call analysis using sound analysis software. It will use software that can be downloaded free of charge, but the analysis techniques covered will be applicable to a range of different programs. As well as species ID we will look at the links between species’ ecology and call characteristics. Attendees will be given a library of recordings of bat calls to work through which they can keep afterwards for their own use.

This workshop will be run online via Zoom and led by Philip Briggs, Monitoring Manager for the National Bat Monitoring Programme.

Dover's bats: heritage and wildlife conservation intertwined - Zoom presentation

04-12-2025 7:30 pm -9:00 pm
Dover's bats: heritage and wildlife conservation intertwined - Zoom presentation

Claire Munn, a professional ecologist, will be giving a talk about how these two conservation types, which initially can seem to be conflicting, can actually go hand-in-hand. She has spent several years working with bats and people at a wide range of historic sites, both as a professional ecologist and volunteer. Using local examples, in this case the excting site of Dover, she will show how bat and building conservation can work together.

A Zoom link will be sent via email to all members registered to receive them.
